ICYMI: President Biden's 2023 Fiscal Budget

  Is "the state of our union really strong? Are we really building back better than ever? President Biden unveiled his 2023 budget this week with a few familiar focused items. The president is again calling for those who make millions of dollars to pay their fair share of taxes. This special treatment, combined with sophisticated tax planning and giant loopholes, allows many of the very wealthiest people in the world to end up paying a lower tax rate on their full income than many middle-class households. To finally address this glaring problem, the Budget includes a minimum tax on multi-millionaires and billionaires who so often pay indefensibly low tax rates. WH press secretary tests positive for COVID, a second time.

As the U.S. is learning that another COVID variant has emerged, White House press secretary Jen Psaki reveals she has tested positive for COVID-19. In a statement Tuesday, Psaki said she learned of her positive status as she was preparing for her trip with President Biden to Europe.  President Biden is planning to meet Wednesday with NATO allies in Europe. He has not tested positive, as of article publication. This, however, will be Psaki's second time testing positive for the virus while expecting to travel overseas with the president. That test came back positive, which means I will be adhering to CDC guidance and no longer be traveling on the President’s trip to Europe.  I had two socially-distanced meetings with the President yesterday, and the President is not considered a close contact as defined by CDC guidance. Amid Day 2 of confirmation hearings for Judge Katanji Brown Jackson, the Biden Supreme Court Justice select, has gained the support of police chiefs.
