Are we in a recession, or not? You decide.

 The president took to the podium to address the notion that there are those who think America is in a recession. The Right Thing To Do: Invest In Underserved Communities.

Equal opportunity for all. The Biden administration has announced new initiatives that would allocate billions of dollars to America's underserved communities. Read complete Fact Sheet here . Twenty-one corporations and 3 foundations have come together to create the Economic Opportunity Coalition, committing themselves to aligning major investments in communities of color with investments made by the Biden-Harris Administration. The EOC will coordinate across public, private, and social sector organizations to develop and deploy products that solve challenges in getting resources where most needed and drive towards outcomes for meaningful action. President Biden tests negative for COVID-19

In an announcement in the White House Rose Garden on Wednesday the president said that after isolating for five days, and taking PAXLOVID, he has tested negative for COVID-19. "I'm feeling great", the president said. He thanked those concerned for their well wishes, and credited his being vaccinated and boosted for his quick recovery. He also reminded Americans that the BA.5 COVID variant is still among us and admonished everyone to do the work to protect themselves, including getting vaccinated and boosted with readily available vaccines. "You can now prevent most  COVID  deaths", he said.   S TATEMENT OF  A DMINISTRATION  P OLICY H.R. 3771 – South Asian Heart Health Awareness and Research Act of 2022 (Rep.  WHITE HOUSE  FACT SHEET: Vice President Harris Marks Important New Milestone in Administration’s Efforts to Cut Costs for American Families   Vice President announces that since GetInternet.gov launch in May, Administration has signed up 1 million new households to save hundreds of dollars a year on internet service Access to high-speed internet is no longer a luxury. President Biden tests positive for COVID

The President, just returning from a several-days overseas trip to the Middle East , has tested positive for COVID-19. The White House has confirmed that the president, vaxxed and twice boosted, has "very mild symptoms" and is expected to continue working during isolation. The president has taken the anti-viral drug Paxlovid  to guard against serious COVID illness. The president's symptoms have included runny nose and dry cough. The president's wife, First Lady Jill Biden, speaking to reporters in Detroit after a visit to a  Horizons National summer learning program held at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT said of her husband's condition, "He's fine." Active Shooter Alert: H.R. 6538

The Administration strongly supports passage of H.R. 6538, the bipartisan Active Shooter Alert Act of 2022. image/salisburgfirearmsacademy.com Over the Fourth of July weekend, a mass shooter in Highland Park, Illinois, killed seven people. For hours before the arrest of the alleged perpetrator, police warned that the gunman was still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.  Uvalde shooter video released. That same weekend in the United States, over 220 other people were shot and killed and over 570 people were injured as a result of gun violence.  The Active Shooter Alert Act would enable law enforcement to send out alerts about nearby active shooters. This common-sense bipartisan legislation is backed by more than ten leading law enforcement agencies. President Biden's Reproductive Healthcare Executive Order

On Friday, the president took action to preserve the reproductive rights of women. His Executive Order  seeks to advance reproductive healthcare services and promote access to critical reproductive healthcare services, including abortions. "It remains the policy of my Administration to support women's rights to choose and to protect and defend reproductive rights', wrote Biden. "Doing so is essential to justice, equality, and our health, safety and progress as a Nation." 1982 v. 2022 Biden . 2022 Medal of Freedom Class Honored at White House

 "This Is America." Seventeen Americans were honored Thursday at the White House with Medals of Freedom. The honorees included civil rights attorney Fred Gray , women's U.S. soccer player and World Cup winner  Megan Rapinoe (who declined the previous administration's offer to visit the White House), Steve Jobs and John McCain (both posthumously), and Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles . It’s a huge honor; I’m excited to be here”, said Biles. “I put in so many years of hard work and being recognized by the president is so special”, Biles said to reporters after the ceremony. President Biden discusses America's economy during July 4th address to military families.

"Our Economy is the strongest in the world."  " . ..  Our economy is growing, but not without pain.  Liberty is under assault -- assault both here and abroad.  In recent days, there's been reason to think that this country is moving backward, that  freedom  is being reduced, that rights we assumed were protected are no longer.  A reminder that we remain in an ongoing battle for the soul of America, as we have for over 200 years.  4th of July photo courtesy of - the Internet.
