Happy (Wedding) Anniversary President and First Lady!

President Obama and First Lady Michelle celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary today, October 3rd.

The couple dined at Restaurant Eve in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia over the weekend.

According to the online web site Irish Central, the owner, Cathal Armstrong is friends with First Lady Michelle and has worked with her on her Let's Move! initiative to help children eat healthier.
Cathal is founder of ‘Chefs as Parents’ an organization set up with that goal in mind.

First Couple Wedding Triva:

Michelle and Barack's wedding ceremony was performed on October 3, 1992 by Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois. Michelle's brother Craig walked her down the aisle. The reception was held at the South Shore Cultural Center.

Stevie Wonder's song, "You and I" was Michelle and Obama's wedding song.

The two met at a downtown Chicago law firm where Michelle was assigned the role of advisor to a summer associate from Harvard, Barack Obama. He reportedly didn't have much interest in corporate law, but did have a lot of interest in Michelle.

Mrs. Obama said "she fell in love with him for the same reason many other people respect him; his connection with people."

After refusing to go out with Barack for a month, Michelle agreed to spend the day with him. They went to the art institute, had lunch at an outdoor cafe, walked and talked, saw the movie Do the Right Thing, and had a drink on the 99th floor of the John Hancock building.

In a CNN interview with Suzanne Malveau, Mrs. Obama said, "We clicked right away ... by the end of that date it was over ... I was sold."

Said Mr. Obama: "I think it's fair to say that had I not been a Stevie Wonder fan, Michelle might not have dated me. We might not have married. The fact that we agreed on Stevie was part of the essence of our courtship."

Just one question.
Where was White House pool photographer Charlie Dharapak?  After his taking pictures of the First Lady at Target last week, where are pictures of the Obamas dining at Restaurant Eve on the almost 'eve' of their Wedding Anniversary?

In wake of the Zika virus, travel, spring break still O.K.

Representatives from the CDC and the NIH were on hand at the White House during Monday's press briefing to update the public and address concerns over the Zika virus that has caused some babies to be born with deformities. Dr. Anne Schuchat from the Centers for Disease Control and Dr. Tony Fauci from the National Institutes of Health told reporters that a vaccine is in the making.   The pair also said they are particulary concerned about women who are pregnant, or plan to get pregnant, who have either traveled to or plan to travel to areas of South America and the Carribean known to have the Zika virus. Despite those bold statements, the doctors said there is no wide-spread concern and that Americans should continue to travel, including during upcoming college spring breaks --  when college students travel to warmer climate destinations to escape winter weather. "Travel to Zika-affected areas is very common among Americans, and we don’t think that needs to stop&quo
