Bullet Hits White House Window?

Sixteen hundred Pennsylvania Avenue narrowly came under siege last weekend when 21-year-old Oscar Ramiro Ortega fired shots at the White House.

Further examination revealed a bullet smashed a White House glass window, but didn't not penetrate due to its anti-ballistic properties.

It is believed that Ortega fired the shots last Friday night around 9pm using an AK-47-style rifle.  The rifle was later recovered from an abandoned car Friday thought to belong to Ortega.  Additional rounds of weaponry were also found.

Ortega is described as a 5'11" tall, 160 pound Hispanic man with a medium build. He has brown eyes and black hair.

Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Ortega on a felony charge of carrying a dangerous weapon.

This charge should be increased from 'carrying a dangerous weapon' to 'firing a dangerous weapon' into a residence, and other related charges.

No one firing shots into the White House should just be charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, or possessing a dangerous weapon, for that matter.

President Obama and the First Lady were traveling in Hawaii for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

No remarks from the president on the White House shooting have been reported.

  1. Homeowners have many different reasons for window replacement. Some are simply looking to improve their view from both inside and out
of their house. A window replacement job can enhance the interior and exterior beauty of any house by freshening up its look and
updating its style. Window replacement can significantly enhance the look of a house and give it added curb appeal. On the inside of
your home, window replacement can let more natural light, can add to the décor of any room, and improve the view of the outside. It's
amazing how much an upgrade can enhance the view of your own yard or neighborhood.

In wake of the Zika virus, travel, spring break still O.K.

Representatives from the CDC and the NIH were on hand at the White House during Monday's press briefing to update the public and address concerns over the Zika virus that has caused some babies to be born with deformities. Dr. Anne Schuchat from the Centers for Disease Control and Dr. Tony Fauci from the National Institutes of Health told reporters that a vaccine is in the making.   The pair also said they are particulary concerned about women who are pregnant, or plan to get pregnant, who have either traveled to or plan to travel to areas of South America and the Carribean known to have the Zika virus. Despite those bold statements, the doctors said there is no wide-spread concern and that Americans should continue to travel, including during upcoming college spring breaks --  when college students travel to warmer climate destinations to escape winter weather. "Travel to Zika-affected areas is very common among Americans, and we don’t think that needs to stop&quo
