Trump's first week as president of these United States.

Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of these United States on January 20, 2025. It was a lively affair that took place in the same place that was nearly desecrated by his supporters just four years earlier.  Talk about coming full circle.

Bands playedartists sang, balls were attended, and supporters camped out in front of the venue for hours to get a chance to witness history, again, and to hear the inaugural address.

Executive Orders

In his first three days, President Trump signed multiple Executive Orders.  Here's a list of his efforts he believes will help America 'win'. Trump commenced to:

1) Firing of America's government workers, especially 'DEI' departments, and its workers.

2) Ending birthright citizenship for immigrants, in spite of the 14th Amendment.

3) Going after immigrants believed to be dangerous to the country.

4) Pardoning 1500+ American citizens believed to be dangerous to the country.

5) Demanding those government workers not fired, return to brick and mortar offices.  (Afterall, Trump is a real estate guy.  He can't have all that empty, unused, real estate just sitting downtown not being used.)

6) Ushering in his own cryptocurrency that ballooned into space (X).

7) Dismantling functions of the civil rights department of the DOJ, leaving vulnerable populations even more vulnerable and at risk.

8) Stripping away secret service protection from former government officials.

9) Planning revenge on those he thinks treated him 'unfairly'.

10) Making friends with billionaire tech guys. (We're waiting to see where this goes, but some suspect big tax breaks for the ultra rich, like billionaire tech guys.).

11) Withdrawing from the World Health Organization.

There will probably be more by the end of this week, but for now those are the top 11.

A Trump presidential history.

As he enters into his 2nd term as president, let's indulge in a bit of revisionist first-term Trump presidential history, shall we? Let us be reminded how of  all the ways he helped America 'win'.  Should be about five, perhaps ten items (maybe more).

The second term has begun, folks.   Oh, the legislation we'll see as supporters, including officials, ensure Trump gets to do even more to keep the public talking, leaving most wondering how we got here, and how there is no likelihood of this ride ending any time soon.

In wake of the Zika virus, travel, spring break still O.K.

Representatives from the CDC and the NIH were on hand at the White House during Monday's press briefing to update the public and address concerns over the Zika virus that has caused some babies to be born with deformities. Dr. Anne Schuchat from the Centers for Disease Control and Dr. Tony Fauci from the National Institutes of Health told reporters that a vaccine is in the making.   The pair also said they are particulary concerned about women who are pregnant, or plan to get pregnant, who have either traveled to or plan to travel to areas of South America and the Carribean known to have the Zika virus. Despite those bold statements, the doctors said there is no wide-spread concern and that Americans should continue to travel, including during upcoming college spring breaks --  when college students travel to warmer climate destinations to escape winter weather. "Travel to Zika-affected areas is very common among Americans, and we don’t think that needs to stop...
