This is a developing story. The president's Proclamation  today cites numerous attempts to 'reach across the aisle' for solutions to the immigration crisis facing the U.S.  Previous administrations have asked for 'commonsense reforms'. Today, President Biden, via Executive Order, opted to suspend entry of any noncitizen seeking asylum into the United States across the southern border. NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R.   FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   June 3, 2024   Statement by Communications Director Kirsten Allen  on Vice President Harris’s Travel to Switzerland   Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Lucerne, Switzerland on June 15 to participate in the Summit on Peace in Ukraine. The Vice President will underscore the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s effort to secure a just and lasting peace, based on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and the principles of the UN Charter.
