Trump's first week as president of these United States.

Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of these United States on January 20, 2025. It was a lively affair that took place in the same place that was nearly desecrated by his supporters just four years earlier.  Talk about coming full circle.  Bands played ,  artists sang , balls were attended, and supporters camped out in front of the venue for hours to get a chance to witness history, again, and to hear the inaugural address . Executive Orders In his first three days, President Trump signed multiple Executive Orders.  Here's a list of his efforts he believes will help America 'win'. Trump commenced to: 1) Firing of America's government workers, especially 'DEI' departments, and its workers. 2) Ending birthright citizenship for immigrants, in spite of the 14th Amendment. 3) Going after immigrants believed to be dangerous to the country. 4) Pardoning 1500+ American citizens believed to be dangerous to the country. 5) Demanding those government workers no...

They have been magnif...

President-elect Trump meets President Obama

President Obama met Thursday with president-elect Donald Trump in the Oval Office, the first time the two men have ever met. The pair spoke for nearly two hours in a meeting that Obama described as "excellent." The president said the pair discussed both foreign and domestic policy and explained  he was looking for a "smooth transition" of political power. Obama said he advised his "team" to ensure that president-elect Trump "has everything he needs to succeed." WATCH: President  Obama meets Trump Said President Obama, "I just had the opportunity to have an excellent conversation with President-elect Trump.  It was wide-ranging.  We talked about some of the organizational issues in setting up the White House.  We talked about foreign policy.  We talked about domestic policy.  And as I said last night, my number-one priority in the coming two months is to try to facilitate a transition that ensures our President-elect is successful....

White House Staffers on Trump Win

Thanks to White House pooler Jen Bendery of the Huffington Post for providing this report on the mood of White House staffers after President Obama delivered remarks on president-elect Trump's win. Bendery wrote: "Obama gave remarks in the Rose Garden about Donald Trump winning last night's presidential race. The event was open press, but here's a little color. Obama talked for about 10 minutes about the need to unify the country now that the election is over. Biden stood alongside him." Quoting from President Obama's remarks, Bendery writes, "A lot of Americans are exalted today. A lot of Americans are less so," he said with a slight chuckle. "Don't get cynical. Don't ever think you can't make a difference." At least 150 WH staffers came out to hear Obama speak. They lined up in the garden behind the press, listening intently. When he was done, they applauded for a solid minute, at least. Your pooler saw three staf...

Hillary Clinton: "I accept your nomination for president of the United States!"

Hillary Clinton accepted the nomination for president of the United States Thursday during the final day of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. She was introduced by her daughter Chelsea who lauded her mother as the "best mom and grandma", and the best choice for president. During her acceptance speech Hillary made the case, to a jammed-packed Wells Fargo Center audience, for why she would be the better choice as president of the United States - over her rival Donald Trump. "My primary mission as president will be to create more opportunity and more good jobs with rising wages right here in the United States", said Clinton. "From my first day in office to my last. Especially in places that for too long have been left out and left behind. From our inner cities to our small towns, Indian Country to Coal Country. From the industrial Midwest to the Mississippi Delta to the Rio Grande Valley." Her remarks were met with mixed opin...

A full-out effort to elect the next U.S. president.

From one convention to the next, amid claims and allegations of plagiarism , lies  and improprieties , U.S. presidential nominees bring their speeches, party members to convince Americans their party is better to hold the highest political office. "I'm more optimistic about the future of America than ever before", said President Obama Wednesday night during the Democratic National Convention where he lauded the record of presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. " And for four years, I had a front-row seat to her intelligence, her judgment, and her discipline.  I came to realize that her unbelievable work ethic wasn’t for praise or attention – that she was in this for everyone who needs a champion.  I understood that after all these years, she has never forgotten just who she’s fighting for." While Clinton made a surprise appearance on stage after the president's remarks, she will formally accept the Democratic nomination Thursday night during the final ev...

Former Republican majority leader, Eric Cantor, endorses Jeb Bush for president

Eric Cantor endorsed Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush Thursday evening. Cantor tweeted earlier Thursday that he was "AllinforJeb." Cantor is the former Republican majority leader who lost to David Brat, a Virginia professor - and tea-party backer - in the 2014 Virginia House primaries. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump tweeted of the Cantor endorsement, "Who wants the endorsement of a guy (@EricCantor) who lost in perhaps the greatest upset in the history of Congress?” The two presidential candidates have sparred on the issue of immigration. Bush, who is married to a Mexican-American, used the term ' anchor babies ' when speaking about illegal immigrants giving birth in America so their children can become citizens.   He tried 'defending' himself by saying the term didn't apply to Mexicans, but rather Asians (another group who will probably not vote for him, further limiting his chances to become president of t...

Romney Takes Nevada

Obama campaign makes remarks. Mitt Romney won his second caucus since wowing in Florida.   With 48% of the vote, and an endorsement from Donald Trump, Romney has gained Republican momentum in his bid for the White House. "This isn't the first time you gave me your vote of confidence, but this time I'm going to take it to the White House", Romney said. Romney also won Nevada in 2008.  (How many times have you won twice in Vegas?) Romney's running mates, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Super Tuesday bound, came in with 23% of the Nevada votes, while Rep. Ron Paul gained a jump at 18% over Pennsylvania's Sen. Rick Santorum who managed 11% of the Nevada's votes. The White House won't speak (at least publicly) about the Republican debates and caucuses, but sure make mention of them in campaign emails. Here's what one Obama campaign email read last week about Romney's Trump endorsement suggesting they are not impressed, nor a...

Trump To President Obama: You Take Too Many Vacations

Donald Trump, the real estate mogul, and Presidential bully thought to be running for president in 2012, tweeted that President Obama, planning to vacation on Martha's Vineyard later this month, takes too many vacations. According to his Twitter account , Trump tweeted :  "He takes more vacations than any human being I've ever seen". Trump also tweeted on Aug 15 realDonaldTrump Donald J. Trump @ BarackObama played golf yesterday. Now he heads to a 10 day vacation in Martha's Vineyard. Nice work ethic. Trump, known for making false claims and outlandish accusations, can include forgetfullness to his repetoire. He obviously forgot about President Bush's record.   Thanks to the Internet, we can't. President Bush has spent all or part of 166 days during his presidency at his Crawford, Texas, ranch or en route. Add the time spent at or en route to the presidential retreat of Camp David and at the Bush family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine, an...

Trump Not Running For President

Full release: "After considerable deliberation and reflection, I have decided not to pursue the office of the Presidency. This decision does not come easily or without regret; especially when my potential candidacy continues to be validated by ranking at the top of the Republican contenders in polls across the country. I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election. I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector. I want to personally thank the millions of Americans who have joined the various Trump grassroots movements and written me letters and e-mails encouraging me to run. My gratitude for your faith and trust in me could never be expressed properly in words. So, I make you this promise: that I will continu...

Recap: White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Trump, the President, Protesters, and More While the President was making about 2,500 attendees to this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner laugh while he took pot shots at his nemesis Donald Trump, protesters were on the outside demonstrating their dislike of Trump and his challenge for the president to reveal his birth certificate. Trump with wife Malania.  Photo/CD Brown. Suffice it to say, Trump sitting iron-clad at a table with wife Malania, had egg all over his face the entire evening. Before the dinner began Trump, and others, walked the red carpet where the likes of Gayle King (no, no Oprah), New York City’s Mayor Bloomberg , NBA star Carmelo Anthony , actress Tyne Daley , Morgan Fairchild , Will.I.Am , John Legend , and others were all too happy to engage the group of red carpet photographers. After Trump posed very briefly with his wife, they began leaving the red carpet area, much to the dislike of photographers wanting some form of...

" Justice Has Been Done " President Obama initiated the killing (or attack) of Osama bin Laden, giving direct orders to Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, "to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda." Speaking late last evening just outside the White House East Room (interrupting Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice ending) the president vehemently articulated that, "We will never tolerate our security being threatened, nor stand idly by when our people have been killed." Visit msnbc.com for breaking news , world news , and news about the economy U.S. operatives raided an al Qaeda compound located in Abbottabad, Pakistan where bin Laden was said to have been living in a large home on a secured compound in an affluent suburb of Islamabad.
