The down, but-not-yet-counting-himself-out, presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, remains on the campaign trail. Today he is visiting a Pepsi plant in Bern, NC where he tweets - "This is an original bottle of Pepsi." He also tweeted a picture of him visiting with John Johnson, owner of Hamlin Drug Co, the oldest African American owned pharmacy in America. We're guessing this is his last ditch effort to gain voter support from the African American community, as he continues to trail substantially behind Mitt Romney. A very telling article about Newt Gringrich from the Huffington Post talks about Gingrich and several of his organization's money woes. Seemingly a presidential candidate, unsuccessful at balancing his own budget, might have little success at balancing the country's mounting debt crisis. Writes HuffPost: Since 1984, Gingrich has launched 12 politically oriented organizations and initiatives based in Washington. Of those, five have been investigated by the Internal Revenue Service and the House Ethics Committee, another five closed down with debts totaling more than $500,000, and two were subject to legal action. "We didn't win by a lot, but it was enough", said Romney after winning primary votes in both Michigan (his home state where his father once governed) and Arizona (where Jan Brewer, after endorsing Romney last week, has to be proud). Romney didn't sing this time (as he did after learning President Obama sang during a campaign event) but he did comment saying, "The people of Michigan looked into the hearts of the candidates, and all I have to say is 'I love you back." Still not over 50%, Romney received 41% of the votes in his Michigan home town, in front of Rick Santorum who received a close 37%.  Ron Paul received 12%, beating out Newt Gingrich with just 7%. Earlier today Rick Perry gracefully bowed out of the presidential race after a lackluster performance in Iowa.  Amid that announcement, Perry outdoes himself one further by announcing he is endorsing the 'open marriage' minded Newt Gingrich. "Today, I am suspending my campaign and endorsing Newt Gingrich for President of the United States", Perry said during a morning press conference . The final four sparred off in a heated debate in South Carolina where Gingrich came under fire (again). Meanwhile, former presidential candidate Herman Cain , who 'suspended' his campaign first, announced during the Southern Republican Leadership Conference today at the College of Charleston, SC that he plans to endorse the "We the People" campaign. It was just last month that we saw another Republican presidential candidate, Newt Gingrich, put his foot in his mouth when he said 'poor people don't know about working because there is no one to teach them'. Rick Santorum doesn't want Black people getting welfare.  In his eyes, they are the only recipients of government services. It's always just a matter of time before presidential candidates put their foots in their mouths and say something insensitive, or just plain stupid. Gingrich's contract 'against' America's poor. This time, it was Newt Gingrich's turn (again).  Thankfully, someone on the national level spoke out .  (We need more like that). Gingrich spoke in Iowa recently, and his remarks about the most vulnerable of our society are deplorable, proving Newt is as far removed from the American populous as a repeat adulterer is from a sex addiction clinic. Gingrich claims poor children have no work habits unless it's "illegal." They have no habit of ‘I do this and you give me cash’ unless it’s illegal", he said. (As if working in Congress has yielded no illegal activity among its own 'employed' members). Gets Unlikely Call From An (Unlikely) Viewer Reverend Al Sharpton , host of MSNBC's Politics Nation, received a Happy Birthday call from (wait for it), 2012  presidential candidate Newt Gingrich . “ I figured I would be the least likely phone call you ’ ll get tonight, ” said Gingrich.
