First Lady Michelle Obama will deliver the commencement address at North Carolina A&T on May 12. First Lady at GW commencement in 2010. Since becoming First Lady, Mrs. Obama has spoken at several institutions of learning. Mrs. Obama gave the commencement addresses at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and Oregon State University (OSU) where her brother, Craig, coaches basketball. In 2009, Mrs. Obama spoke at the graduation of University of California Merced’s first full senior class. Dr. Jill Biden will deliver two commencement addresses this spring at Montgomery County Community College in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. On Sunday, May 15th, Dr. Biden will address the 61st graduating class at Salve Regina. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1947, Salve Regina is a Catholic, coeducational university of the arts and sciences that enrolls more than 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students from across the U.S. and around the world. Salve Regina University is also the home of the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy, which encourages international dialogue to achieve a more peaceful world and prepares citizens for an informed and active role in local, national, and world affairs. On Friday, May 28, 2010, at 10:00 AM EDT, Vice President Joe Biden will deliver the commencement address at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The Naval Academy was founded in 1845 by the Secretary of the Navy, George Bancroft, in what is now historic Annapolis, MD. The Academy has graduated several of America's most notables to include former president Jimmy Carter, and 2008 presidential candidate John McCain. Top 3 Finalists Announced for Race to the Top High School Commencement Challenge White House and the Department of Education announced today the top three finalists of the first annual Race to the Top High School Commencement Challenge . The top three finalists, in no particular order are: • Clark Montessori Jr. & Sr. High School in Cincinnati, OH • Kalamazoo Central High School in Kalamazoo, MI • Denver School of Science and Technology in Denver, CO Between April 26th and April 29th, over 170,000 people weighed in on the six high school finalists.
