VP and AG Announce Initiative to Address Backlog of Untested Sexual Assault Kits

From the White Press Office NEW YORK, NY – Vice President Joe Biden and Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch today announced $41 million in grant awards to 20 jurisdictions to eliminate or reduce the number of untested sexual assault kits across the country.  Today’s announcement is being announced as part of an unprecedented partnership with the New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) – whose own grant program is contributing $38 million to the cause for a total of $79 million to eliminate the backlog reaching 43 jurisdictions in 27 states across the country. “Rape kits are an essential tool in modern crime fighting — not only for the victim, but, for the entire community. Vice President Biden Lauds His "1 is 2 Many" Campaign Against Sexual Assaults on College Campuses

Near to advice President Biden's heart is the treatment of women and the eradication of sexual assault against women. He continues his 1 is 2 Many campaign to spread the message that rape will not be tolerated, especially on college campuses where one in five women, ages 18-24 are sexually assaulted. The Secret Service & Prostitution

So, this is how The Secret Service gets down? This isn't the first time, nor is it a secret, that the U.S. Secret Service has been suspected of soliciting prostitutes.  In 2008, a prostitution sting in the area of 11th and K Streets, NW around 12:50 a.m. found a marked Secret Service Uniformed Division patrol car had stopped to speak with an undercover female officer who was posing as a prostitute. The patrol car was driven by a Uniformed Division sergeant.  The NSID officers assumed he was going to tell the undercover female officer to leave the area. Find out what happened next. Today we find that more than a dozen Secret Service personnel traveling with President Obama to Cartagena, Columbia, while he attends the Summit of the Americas , have been released amid allegations of 'sexual misconduct'.
