Starbucks customer favors U.S. Congresswoman If you didn't know any better, one might say this lovely lady pictured below looks a lot like former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle 'Gabby' Giffords . Giffords represented Arizona's 8th congressional district from 2007 until her resignation on January 25, 2012, after having survived an attack on her life when she was shot in a mall parking lot while speaking to a group of her constituents. We spotted the Giffords look-a-like (including the eyeglasses) while she was having coffee in a university Starbucks and immediately noticed the resemblance. It has been one year since Giffords became the victim of a gun shot wound to the head while reaching out to her constituents in a shopping center in Tucson. Her recovery has been nothing short of miraculous. Now, just two days away from the president's 2012 State of the Union address, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords made the decision to step down from Congress. In 2011 an empty seat where Giffords would have sat, set the stage for the president honoring her and remembering the other victims of that unfortunate day. "I'm getting better every day. My spirit is high," said Giffords in an online video, her speech recognizably slow. A statement by the president recognized Giffords for her "dedication to fairness, a willingness to listen to different ideas, and a tireless commitment to the work of perfecting our union". While the decision to raise the debt ceiling in an effort to ward off a government default was finally passed in both the House and Senate this afternoon by a vote of 74-26 ( a total of 60 votes was needed) , the contents of 74 page legislation has raised a lot of questions. During yesterday's Senate and House last ditch effort to get the bill passed, minority speaker Nancy Pelosi kept asking law makers on the House floor "why are we here"? . "We have come here to make the future better for future generations".  The delay has never happened  quite like this before, neither has the opposition  over the its contents been so heavily scrutinized, even by perhaps the biggest supporter of the Obama administration, Nancy Pelosi, who admitted she has been on the fence, but pleaded for law makers to pass the debt ceiling legislation, even if they were "on the fence", just as she was. First photos of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords have surfaced since she was shot in the head in a mass shooting in Tucson about five months ago. The photos appeared on her Facebook page (search Rep. Gabrielle Giffords) and were taken May 17th at TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital, the day after the launch of Endeavour and the day before she had her cranioplasty.
