The Department of Justice is seeking to learn how the credit reports and several pieces of personal information belonging to several staff members of the Obama administration, and several celebrity icons, were posted online.  The Atlanta Journal   reported that the Justice Department said the FBI was also investigating how the Social Security number, address and a credit report of FBI Director Robert Mueller ended up on the site. The site also posted information about Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck . doxxing . v. the process of obtaining or deducing information about a person based on a limited set of initial information. I voted today, and I ate my carrots . After all the campaigning, radio and TV ads and the billions of dollars spent to get here, today is election day in the United States. Here's how the presidential candidates will spend their day. President Obama's day will include a series of radio and television interviews.  He will also participate in his  traditional Election Day basketball game, make a pit stop at a small campaign field office at the corner of Hyde Park Blvd. (We anticipate he'll make more stops like these). With just 11 days to go until the 2012 election for the presidency, candidate Mitt Romney and sitting president Barack Obama , along with their wives and veeps (present and aspiring) are hitting key swing states to make a near final last ditch effort.  Our friends over at The Hill sums up the touring schedule quite nicely. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan hold a campaign rally in North Canton, Ohio, at 7:15 p.m., where Romney will make what his campaign is billing as a major address on the economy. Romney will also hold a campaign rally in Ames, Iowa, at noon. And Ryan will also make a stop in Huntsville, Ala. The second presidential debate between President Obama and presidential candidate Mitt Romney took place last evening at Hofstra University, located in Hempstead, NY.  President Obama settled in days before his running mate, preparing his speech at the nearby Kingsmill Resort where he spent days restructuring his debate strategy in hopes of improving upon a very lackluster first debate that left undecided voters still undecided. With just three weeks until the 2012 Election, viewers last night saw a more tactically engaged President Obama, in a debate moderated by CNN's Candy Crowley (host of the show's State of the Union on Sunday mornings), as he addressed the issues that seemed important to voters.  Among the issues : more insight into the 9/11 attack in Benghazi, women's rights, and energy. Vice President Joe Biden and VP candidate Paul Ryan go head-to-head in the only VP debate of 2012. As the two defend and try to make a case for their positions on a number of issues to include foreign policy , abortion , tax cuts and the middle class, Biden was chastised in the media for smirking and smiling too much , while Ryan was labeled as not being able to effectively communicate the Romney-Ryan plan for America. What we noticed was that Ryan (who smiled/smirked just as often as Biden) could be an advertisement for the bottled water company Drink More Water, as he repeatedly drew sips from his glass of water.  Such action could be summed up as a defense mechanism, or a chance to buy more time between giving a response to an uncomfortable topic he was unprepared to answer. First Lady Michelle Obama inspired a crowd of eager Loudoun County area voters and campaign supporters at the Leesburg 4-H Fair Grounds yesterday where she stressed the urgency of voter registration and voting in the upcoming election. We've offered those sentiments to all of the other Republican candidates in the 2012 election, and we were correct in our prediction.  Now, we're also certain we can say the same about Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney has created a fund called the One Term Fund and he wants supporters to donate $25, or more, to "put President Obama out of work". The fund's page asks, 'What is a one term president worth to you?'. Per the Romney campaign: We're not better off when 23 million people are struggling for work. Nor are we better off when, for every net new job that was created last month, nearly four Americans gave up looking for work entirely. We're not better off when poverty rates are headed toward a 50-year high, and nearly 47 million Americans are on food stamps. No amount of liberal mythology or political theater in Charlotte can mask the cold, hard truth: this president has not kept his promises and America is not better off. With the RNC and DNC conventions at a close, we look back and give you our thoughts, critiquing the tone and vibe of the two. Starting with the Republican Convention. We find that the Republican convention looked more and more like Midwestern America with its mostly Caucasian audience.  This is troubling because it seems to suggest that the Republican model speaks to only white people.  While the speakers at the DNC were diverse, one was hard pressed to find ten people of color in the entire listening audience.  We know there are at least ten people of color in the Midwest.  Judging from the camera angles at the RNC, not even they are supporting Mitt Romney. After Romney's traveling press secretary, Rick Gorka, had a few choice words for the media this week, the campaign is acknowledging the error of their ways and has decided to become more 'press friendly', the Hill Overnight is reporting. Fewer than 100 days out from the election, the campaign is expected to provide more press briefings and heightened access to the candidate in the coming days, and to make changes to the travel pool that will make it more media-friendly. The changes would represent a major shift for the Romney campaign, which so far has offered only extremely limited access to the presumptive Republican nominee, and usually only to favored outlets like Fox News. Romney, who sings America the Beautiful during a campaign speech, also likes Sweden; at least he likes his money there.  Romney - the $200 million dollar man - is so rich he doesn't want the American people to know just how rich he really is and hides much of his undisclosed assets in offshore bank accounts in countries like Sweden. Why would someone have a Swiss bank account?  According to this site people most likely to have a Swiss bank account are those "who don't want other people to know about their money".  The site adds that "unless you're a criminal, it's highly unlikely anyone can ever find out about your account". Romney has yet to release his tax records of the last few years, and quite frankly says he has no plans to do so, lending more questions by Americans about what Romney is hiding. House and Senate at odds over extending Bush era tax cuts. To put it simply, the rich don't want their way of life compromised - ever.  And they definitely don't want an increase in taxes. What American does? "The United States Senate voted to give one hundred percent of Americans, everyone in this country, a tax cut', said minority speaker Nancy Pelosi during her remarks to the media this week."  She called the day, "a great day". That day is about to be clouded by Republicans who don't share that sentiment. Speaking today at the US Chamber of Commerce, presidential candidate Mitt Romney told those attending the Latino Coalition Economic Summit he see to it that every child gets a good education. Blah. Blah. Blah. Bore. Bore. Bore. Why?   Because we've heard the promise before.   If everyone who said they're interested in seeing every child get a first-rate, quality education, kids East of the River in DC would have had more new text books, and less metal detectors by now.  Every politician promises a good education for all.   Yet we still, as Romney pointed out, see in America "one in four kids" fail to get a high school degree, and half that don't graduate. President Obama, in recent months, has said he was "evolving" on the subject of whether or not gay couples should have the right to marry. Today, the president made a statement the news corp has been wanting him to make for the entire length of his presidential career. "I am for gay marriage." While campaigning for the presidency in 2008, Mr. Obama made his thoughts clear that he was not in favor of same sex marriages, saying he believed that the union of marriage is between a man and a woman. Mitt Romney won Chicago last evening, and picked up an endorsement by the brother of former president, George W. Bush.  He's riding high. He's leaving Santorum, Gingrich, and Paul in the dust, it seems. But the candidate who loves cars and lakes, is also being made fun of, again.
