Harry Whittington, an attorney, and formerly introduced as a long-time friend to Cheney, was shot by Cheney in 2006. Whittington sustained a collapsed lung and underwent extensive surgery. When the smoke cleared two hundred bits of shrapnel pierced Whittington's face, neck and chest. His face is scarred and about 30 pieces of shot are still deeply embedded in his body.
