  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   June 3, 2024   Statement by Communications Director Kirsten Allen  on Vice President Harris’s Travel to Switzerland   Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Lucerne, Switzerland on June 15 to participate in the Summit on Peace in Ukraine. The Vice President will underscore the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s effort to secure a just and lasting peace, based on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and the principles of the UN Charter. The Vice President will reaffirm support for the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against ongoing Russian aggression. Vice President Biden will be in Poland the week of March 17-19, the White House is reporting.  He will also travel to Lithuania where he will  meet with regional partners to discuss events in Ukraine and other regional issues.  I n Warsaw and Vilnius, the Vice President will meet with the President and Prime Minister of Poland and the Presidents of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.  During his meetings, the Vice President will consult on steps to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and affirm our collective defense commitments under the North Atlantic Treaty and our enduring support for all of our allies and partners in Europe.

Moldova, part of Vice President Biden's planned trip to Europe. Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden will depart for Finland, Russia, and Moldova this coming week.  In each country, the Vice President will meet with key leaders to discuss the full range of bilateral and regional issues.  In Helsinki Finland, he looks forward to consulting with U.S. Finnish partners to discuss regional and global priorities. In Moscow, he will seek to build on the reset in U.S.-Russian relations, with a focus on ways to further the prosperity of the two countries.  In Chisinau, he will signal our support for ongoing democratic and economic reforms and for Moldova's aspirations for European integration.
