Christmas in Washington isn't official until the lighting of the national Christmas tree.
The First Family helped bring in the occasion with a few friends like Jordan Sparks, BB King, Cheryl Crow, and actor/rapper Common, the evening's emcee.
Mrs. Obama read 'Twas The Night Before Christmas.
The Obamas continue to celebrate the season with the taping of the annual Christmas In Washington event, as we recently noted, this Sunday at the National Building Museum. The show will air on December 17th on TNT.
