Wednesday, July 27, 2021 marked the first day of the January 6, 2020 Capitol Hill insurrection.
Testimonies from four U.S. Capitol police officers offered (beyond)
revealing testimony about what they went through the day of January 6, 2021 that
left two officers dead, multiple officers wounded and another recovering from a
heart attack.
When asked about the attacks reduced to just “hugs and
kisses”, capitol police offer Aquilino Gonell suggested that the same be
offered up to Donald Trump. (He later retracted this comment.)
Officers testified that they were punched, sprayed with contaminants,
called racial epithets, beaten with multiple objects (to include flag poles) as
they were outnumbered as they tried to gain control, (despite not using their government-issued
firearms to defend themselves in the face of a clear and present danger).
WATCH: A historic democracy defending moment
Note republicans were also present during the insurrection,
but have somehow, once their lives were spared, have created the narrative that
both the hearing select committee, and the hearing itself, are both political.

donations continue to pour in
Almost every member of the Republican conference understood
days immediately after January 6th what had actually happened, and many of them
said so publicly, said Liz Cheney (R-RI). The fact that so many members of our
leadership, and others, the fact that they have gone from recognizing what
happened on the 6th to protesting in front of the Justice Department
on behalf of those who were part of the insurrection is something that I can’t
explain, Cheney said. “I think it’s a disgrace.”
As communication equipment could be seen being used by the
insurrectionists, the committee hopes to secure evidence showing (and
confirming) who gave the marching orders, planning of the insurrection, and
what, if any, further actions are being planned by Trump’s supporters like
those of January 6th.

Notwithstanding the facts, and the truth revealed, committee
members have the daunting task of deciding how they will proceed to bring forth
justice and uphold democracy.
“We don’t know where this ends”, said former prosecuting
attorney and Sirius XM radio host, Laura Coates, but “no stone should be left
unturned.”
