Amid Day 2 of confirmation hearings for Judge Katanji Brown Jackson, the Biden Supreme Court Justice select, has gained the support of police chiefs.

Wall Street Journal: Police Groups Express Support for Supreme Court Nominee Jackson

“It starts from the personal,” 63 police chiefs and other top law-enforcement officials wrote in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee considering her nomination Two of her uncles and a brother have served in various ranks in local police departments. “Such direct familiarity with the experiences and challenges of law enforcement enriches her understanding of criminal justice issues,” the letter said.

“From our analysis of Judge Jackson’s record and some of her cases, we believe she has considered the facts and applied the law consistently and fairly on a range of issues,” Mr. Yoes wrote. “There is little doubt that she has the temperament, intellect, legal experience, and family background to have earned this appointment.”
